Vinaiolo an excellent tip

Vinaiolo - osteria con cucina, Steinstraße 42, Munich, Germany

We had to celebrate a special anniversary and went to Vinaiolo. We had the 5-course- special (56,00€) - and it was excellent - exactly what we had imagined for our special day. The wine the very attentive and friendly servant recommended - a fruity but dry white wine - was superb. We felt very well and were very content with this evening when we left the restaurant after three hilarious hours.

Hofbrauhaus

Marienplatz, Marienplatz, Munich, Germany

A trip to Munich wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Hofbrauhaus, the city's most famous brewery. The hall is huge and was decorated for Christmas. The picture we took of our family (all holding giant beer steins) became next year's Christmas card

Strolling the Marienplatz in the Snow

Marienplatz, Marienplatz, Munich, Germany

We were visiting Munich during the week between Christmas and New Year's in1999. As we strolled down the Marienplatz the snow began to fall in huge flakes which was magical. The carrillon was a special treat.

The Marienplatz is beautifully festive, with the variety of vendors and the lights. When one needs a rest from the festivities!

Ice Skating in Karlsplatz

Ice Skating in Karlsplatz, Karlsplatz, Munich, Germany

Karlsplatz is a great place year round as a meeting place or just to rest alongside the fountain, but at Christmastime, the skating rink that is put over the fountain is fun and festive. This is fun for the whole family.
