MVV - moving easily and unexpensive

MVV (Munich Transport and Tariff Association) is a combination of bus, underground, tram and railroad systems in Munich, that means with one ticket you can use all these different means of transportation. You can buy tickets at the automats and at different ticket shops (in the ground level of Marienplatz for example). For tourists I suggest the city tour card. You can buy a one-day- or a 3-day-ticket, and there is a 1-person or a partnerticket (valid for up to 5 grown-up passengers). The singleone-day-ticket costs 9.80€, the partnerticket 16.00€. If you stay for a couple of days in Munich I suggest the city tour card Gesamtnetz for 3 days (Single 29.00€, Partner (valid for up to 5 grown-ups or 10 children) costs 48.00€. This is really a bargain because this 3-day Gesamtnetz version allows you to travel also to the lakes (Starnberger See, Ammersee), to Holzkirchen (where you have with the BOB-trains a connection to Tegensee, Bayrischzell and Bad Tölz for a one day mountain tour) or to the airport.
If you have an internet access just click 'MVV'; there you also find versions in different languages which give you all information you need.
