Augustiner-Keller is a very traditional (since 1812) and very popular beer restaurant in Munich. Locals and tourists as well like it. There are cosy rooms like the "Bierstüberl" or the "Jagdstüberl", but there is also a typical beer hall and a very nice beer garden. The beer is excellent: Munich Augustiner beer!
Augustiner-Keller is near the main railroad station and in walking distance from the Oktoberfest. My tip: after a stroll over the "Wies'n" (the meadow where the Oktoberfest takes place) you can escape all the noise, crowds and the fight for a seat in an overcrowded beer tent when you walk to Augustiner-Keller and have a "Maß Bier" and a Bavarian meal there in an nice and still typical ambience. And of course they serve Oktoberfest-beer there, too!
